Before I go, I would like to share a great big important project that collaberated by a LOT of talented designers for a much needed cause!
All Creatures Great and Small is a charity collaboration to benefit the National Wildlife Federation and is exclusively available for sale at Funky Playground Designs through July 18th.

According to the National Wildlife Federation:

Millions of gallons of oil have oozed into the water since the April 20th rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico. Some estimates calculate the oil flow to be over 70,000 barrels of oil a day—making the BP spill already eight times larger than Exxon Valdez!

And we still don't know when it will stop.

The wildlife casualties are adding up. Oil has officially hit land, and numerous sea turtles, dolphins and migratory birds have all been reported dead or dying on gulf beaches. Sadly, this is just the beginning of the uphill battle wildlife in the region now face.

Please donate today to help protect the over 400 species of treasured wildlife that stand to lose so much from this devastating tragedy. Your support will go right to work protecting wildlife and wild places impacted by the BP oil spill disaster.

The profits from the sale of this collaboration will go directly to the National Wildlife Federation and the receipt will be posted on the Funky Playground blog after the donation has been made.

NEWS UPDATE!

Hello to everyone!
I know there have been a lot of changes lately and I am trying my best to make these changes easy and with very little confusion. However, this post brings more changes. Due to some unexpected things I will be closing my store at SIS earlier than expected. Tuesday, April 27th will be my final day there. I will continue my sale til then.

On another note, I will be posting again Friday, April 30th with some exciting news! I do hope you'll stick around for that! Until then, here are some sneak peeks at what you can expect to see from me in the very near future!

I do have some big news for you all. With a heavy heart I am leaving Scrap it Sassy after nearly 2 years of designing there. It has been great fun and an adventure for sure! I have learned a lot and continue to learn more weekly if not daily. I will keep you all updated on the status of my position in the digital community and I hope that you all will hang in there. I know I am. I am on a fitness kick so it being nice outside would help tremendously! Even just the natural light would be helpful. I am tired of dark and dreary days :( Well, at least I have made a start on the right path as I have started an exercise plan and have sompletely changed my diet and the way my husband and I grocery shop and the bonus is that my kids are learning to eat healthy too. They are ages 9, 12, 15 & 17 but I don't think it's too late for them to pick up some good eating habits. It was not very fun trying to shop for the first time with our new low calorie and low/no fat list of foods! It's ok grabbing all the fruit and veggies that you want but it's different when you have to start reading labels and being more conscientious about what you throw in the cart. As a matter of fact, that very much was the hardest thing, being used to have what ever you wanted without a second thought. But those days are over and I am determined to make this a new life style. It's been very near a year since I stopped smoking and it wasn't as hard as I thought after a few days so i know I can do this too :)

On another note, while I have your attention (or do I?) I have some new stuff in the store today of course. And just in case some of you faithfuls are wondering or even if your new to my design name, I will be sending out my newsletter on Monday. Thanks in advance for your patience and you will be rewarded ;) (wink, wink)

I'm just excited in general. Oh, happy day I am going to re-paint the bathroom and vanity this weekend. I know most would snarl their noses but I really like the feeling of improving upon things in my home and don't always see it as the work that it is. I went with yellow, chalky white and black...I know it sounds like a bumble bee but I assure you it is more along the lines of classy and elegant as long as you throw it together right. Maybe I'll even come and show before and after pictures :)

Wow, life has been so much easier since I switched to being exclusively at one store! I am so ahead for the most part...(ok, I slacked on the blog posting) I am otherwise happy with my decision. I am actually getting other things taken care of at home! Bonus! Anyway, I guess I ought to get you to the good stuff, eh?!
I was lucky to have one girl who was actually born first. Then followed 3 boys! Oh, yes we are largely out numbered around here! My boys always seem to be writing stories, drawing pictures (anything from action figures to making their own playing cards like pokemon) They even make up their own comic strips which is what prompted this new kit "A Comics Life"

It's a day home form school today which means a 3 day weekend. After the 3 week Christmas break I be;live I am ready for a regular routine again. I hope everyone is enjoying this Christmas holiday! I also hope that you all are looking forward to a great new year! I don't make new years resolution because I tend to be more impulsive with things like quitting smoking and losing weight. I was a smoker til about June of this year. After months of torturing with the thoughts of how hard it was going to be I woke up one day and said, "This is going to be the day!" With that, I have not picked up another cigarette! I am hoping that I will get tired of the few unwanted pounds I wish to shred and be able to do the same. We will see what this next year brings when it gets here ;)

Yes, my babies are growing up! It was really hard watching my daughter get in a car with a boy and ride away with him! Then my son couldn't even see his date or take her to the dance. When we dropped him off a few minutes after the dance started she was till not there. I hope her parents didn't change their minds. If they did I would hope they would have called...they only live 2 doors away!
Anyway, I told my daughter I would have a few pages done before she ever got home and here they are!! I don't have one of her date and her done yet but I got hers and my sons while standing alone.

She is just so beautiful! But then, i guess I am a little bias, lol

and I don't have a dress for my daughter yet! My son might have a suit he can wear but not too sure about that either. I guess I better get on the ball so they will not look like last year repeats! Boy, would I be the horrible Mom then. It's funny, or not so funny depending on how you look at it, but the moment my daughter turned old enough to date without an adult she seemed to find a guy that has his own car! Coincidence? You decide! Actually we have had him over a few times and he don't seem too bad, although he needs some practice on agreeing with me more often! Hopefully he will pick that up soon. The only thing I didn't appreciate about him is that when we told him we were Christians and invited him to our church, he didn't see that as a fine time to let us know that he is Mormon! OK, I won't sit and bash the Mormon beliefs because Christians love all men not just those who agree with what we believe BUT you think he would have let us know when I said OUTLOUD to him that it is important to us! Yes, I said that directly to him while he was making eye contact and everything! This would be why his dropped and he said "I don't know" when I asked him if he knew Jesus as his personal savior! Well it was just a bit shocking I guess because I have never had to deal with this situation before and this has all caught me off guard.

So anyway, i will get on to the scrappy good stuff!

It is a bitter sweet weekend for me. Let me explain...my kids are going back to school Monday. I know I should be jumping up and down celebrating the soon to be new found silence. But I am a little 2 sided on that deal. I like having my kids home most of the time and then other times it's ok to have the peace. Am I normal? Oh well, what is normal anyway, right? So it's back to school in my area which means hustle and bustle to get new clothes and supply lists bought and get other stuff turned in on time. We have to show proof of residence EVERY YEAR here where I live! AND, I have to do this at 3 different schools! I have 2 in high school, one starting junior high and one in elementary...yep, it's like that, lol OK, enough chatter and whining from me! Back to scrapping.

I FINALLY got some pages done over the weekend! I had been wanting to do a few pages at a time of my children when they were little and I got 2 done of my daughter and then a few of myself. I didn't exactly reach my goal I had set but I did do a little something different. Anyhow, just thought, how could I create these pages and then not share them for all the world to see??!! Look at how precious she was/is. She will be 17 years old this year so it is really bitter sweet for me;) The first 2 pags were done with the kit Mon Amie la Rose by Catherine Designs and the name is linked where it can be purchased. These photo's were taken just after she turned 1year old and I was about 5-6 months pregnant with my oldest son.

I told you she was precious! Tried to warn you!
Ok next was one of the things i had on my to-do list for this past weekend. I wanted to do a layout adding song lyrics to a song I claim to be about me. Of course, it is not so I had to be picky and choosy about the parts of the song I put in my page. None the less, here it is:

Last but not least is a very personal page I did about a certain little baby I never got to take home as he died in the womb and it completely broke my heart! Today is the 18 year anniversary of that very sad day. Today is supposed to be the day that I send him off to share him with the rest of the world....but instead I sit at home and wonder what his life might have been like. I know that my God has a plan for me and this baby has played a part. Maybe it made me hold my kids a little tighter when I had them, loved them a little more, protect them even better? I don't know yet. But I do not serve a vengeful God, He does not set out to hurt His children therefore, I go on faith that this is part of His bigger plan for me. I wonder in the end what will become of me. And I am thankful for the experience as it is a huge part in becoming who I am today. Some may not understand that, but like I said, I go on faith!

Yes, I know I threw the whole balance of the digi world off when I decided to change my new release day, right? OK, maybe not but in my little world it changed a few things....See, as with many others, my kids are home for the summer and I am going a little crazy. Maybe I shouldn't change things up on a whim like so when my mind has been altered by 2 teenagers, 1 almost teenager and a 9 year old little boy who can could sweet talk a fly into biting itself! Actually, if someone could give me a good answer to the following dilemma in my household I would give them a coupon to use at my shop! SO not kidding. See, they (the teens) seem to push and push till they have clearly made me irritated...then, they act like nothing is wrong with them and there MUST be something wrong with me, as if they have reached their goal for the day before they ever come upstairs in the morning!! This is no joke and I can only not let that bother me so many days in a row before I blow up. I haven't blown up yet but maybe someone could tell me how do you deal with the everyday teen drama when you are all grown upp and they are all drama, drama, drama??? I have decided that with all the things I have to do on Wednesdays other than new releases that I would change my new release day to Friday. So, I will be back on Friday with some new stuff and a surprise for all my friends;)

to the bad bloggers guild! I Have been neglecting my blog lately and for all those who have said they frequent my blog, I am truly sorry. I promise to be a better blogger and put some stuff on here worth reading again! July is going to be a busy month for me. Of course, we have the 4th of July, my oldest sons 15th birthday (on the 15th of July) and my niece will be 17 this year on the 23rd! Oh, and one of my older sisters birthdays is on the 17th too! WOW! I know there is more going on but I can't keep track of al these dates all the time. You should seriously see all my notes to self I have sitting on my desk right now, lol It is almost to the point of crazy! If my camera were in operating condition I would take a picture and show you so you all can marvel over my pure UN-organizational issue here.

I have quit smoking!! Since Thursday, June 4th!! I am so proud of myself. SO, this weeks new additions are not as many as the last week. It took a bit more of patience and concentration which I had very little of. By the way, my husband and I estimate about $250 savings each month for quitting smoking! (he quit too!) That's really amazing! It will pay a few bills by itself!
